Assistant Manager/Manager, Global FP&A

(Candidates with more years of relevant experience will be considered for Manager role.)

Work Location: Jurong East, Singapore (Global HQ)

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Global FP&A, the incumbent will be the Finance Business Partner to Sales and Marketing/Manufacturing/SCM/ Procurement/ HR leadership globally in formulating short to mid business direction and plan.

The Assistant Manager/Manager would work with an assigned Region and global level for tasks with relatively higher complexity. This calls for the ability to combine knowledge & skills informed acquired through experience, to take a holistic view in business review and to deal with ambiguity & volatility.

Key responsibilities:

  1. Facilitate the submission of forward-looking monthly forecasting, annual budget and long-term projections, followed with insightful analysis on trend & deviations.
  2. Conduct commercial analysis at in-depth level for actual data in financial statements, sales, production/CAPEX data, procurement data, inventory, Standard Costing Production variances and other relevant operational information.
  3. Perform analysis relating to product costing, manufacturing site costs, SCM costs, Inventory and CAPEX related processes for the Region assigned and at global level.
  4. Responsible for America region especially US FP&A full coverage, including full P&L analysis, review of financial trends, forecast, budget and CAPEX.
  5. Highlight exceptions & provide feedback to management for improvement.
  6. Lead global initiatives and projects on relevant improvement relating to work processes, reporting templates, efficiency, timeliness & accuracy in data collation/analysis and performance tracking.
  7. Provide leadership to all users at global level, as a Business Process expert, during system upgrades or new system implementation, working with external consultants to deliver results according to timeline.
  8. Represent Global Finance in ISO matters and act as ISO internal auditor for DyStar.
  9. Track & analyse KPI achievements at global level e.g. Revenue & profitability, by drilling down to Product Range, Sales Area & Customer details.
  10. Work with Business Intelligent tools, SAP/BW systems to gather data, turning data into storyline supported by graphical illustration.
  11. On ad-hoc basis (e.g. M&A activities, shareholders requests, legal cases, financial modelling), support global leadership team in decision-making via periodic research and compilation of essential key information from internal & external sources e.g. market trend, competitive landscape, industrial benchmarking.
  12. Support Senior Manager on other ad-hoc assignments.

Requirements:

  1. Degree in finance/accounting with minimum 8 years’ experience in FP&A and Standard Costing.
  2. Hands-on experience in production-oriented & manufacturing environment preferred.
  3. Knowledge of intermediate level of double-entries, basic understanding of intercompany transactions, project management would be a plus.
  4. Excellent communication skills & fluency in business English. Needs to be able to work with multicultural teams and communicate with various regional/global team members.
  5. Ability in designing & drawing graphs and interpreting them.
  6. Adept at working with large data sets and able to draw insights from it.
  7. Good understanding of ERP & BI Tools (SAP and SAP Business Warehouse will be an advantage).
  8. Excellent Microsoft Office skills (especially Excel).
  9. Good sense of urgency in meeting reporting deadlines.
  10. Strong analytical skills, meticulous.
