Assistant Manager Graphic Design (Creative)

As an Assistant Manager, Graphic Design (Creative), you will work closely with the Marketing Team, as well as the E-Commerce and Sales teams, to develop compelling visual concepts and execute brand strategies. You’ll be responsible for crafting high-quality design assets for marketing campaigns, social media, digital content, and other brand materials. This role requires strong design expertise, proficiency in industry-leading software, and familiarity with AI-powered creative tools.

Job Responsibilities:

Leadership and Team Management:

  1. Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of designers and other creative specialists.
  2. Foster a collaborative and high-performing creative culture within the team, encouraging creativity, innovation, and excellence.
  3. Provide guidance and support to team members, promoting their professional growth and development.

Creative Strategy and Direction:

  1. Develop and execute creative strategies that align with the overall brand vision and business objectives.
  2. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, such as marketing, product development, and communications, to ensure creative initiatives are in line with their goals.
  3. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices, leveraging this knowledge to drive creative innovation and excellence.

Project Management:

  1. Oversee and manage multiple creative projects simultaneously, ensuring their timely delivery, quality, and adherence to brand guidelines.
  2. Set project priorities, allocate resources effectively, and manage budgets to optimize project outcomes.
  3. Collaborate with external agencies, freelancers, and vendors, when necessary, to enhance creative capabilities and expand the team's capacity.

Design and Concept Development:

  1. Lead the conceptualization and development of creative campaigns, branding initiatives, and marketing materials.
  2. Create and present design concepts, storyboards, and mock-ups to stakeholders, providing clear and compelling visual representations of ideas.
  3. Ensure consistency and cohesiveness in visual messaging across all creative assets.

Brand Management:

  1. Serve as a brand custodian, ensuring brand guidelines are maintained across all creative executions.
  2. Develop and evolve the brand's visual identity, keeping it fresh, relevant, and aligned with the target audience.
  3. Monitor and assess market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for brand differentiation.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s in design, fine arts, communications, or a related field.
  2. Proven experience (8-10+ years) in similar role.
  3. Strong leadership and people management skills, with a track record of building and developing high-performing creative teams.
  4. Extensive knowledge of design principles, including graphic design, typography, color theory, and layout.
  5. Proficiency in industry-standard design software, such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  6. Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and allocate resources effectively.
  7. Exceptional creativity and the ability to generate original ideas and concepts.
  8. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate creative concepts and strategies to stakeholders.
  9. Experience in developing and managing brand guidelines and maintaining brand consistency.
  10. Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  11. Having experience in animation and motion graphics would be an added advantage.
