Assistant Manager, General Ledger

Job Responsibilities

1. Manage the team for the month end close to ensure the deadlines & deliverables as agreed in the SLAs are completed on time.
2. Prepare Financial Accounting reports and reconciliation, provide variance analysis and highlight relevant issues to the management.
3. Prepare for BNM report related and need to work closely with Compliance.
4. Drive development & changes in systems and process improvement initiatives and implement new KPIs from the process change. This includes reviewing updated process documentation.
5. Backup and guide subordinates on relevant tasks such as Fixed Asset Accounting & reporting, reconciliation, month end closing activities, etc.
6. Review the KPI metrics related to the function and provide commentaries & root cause analysis where required for further discussion with the Process Lead.
7. Take the lead in issue resolution on BAU operational matters.
8. Ensure month end closing and reporting activities are performed accurately and timely by the team including preparing and analysing BS reconciliation reports within specified timescales.
9. Stay updated on corporate accounting policies and support in the implementation of new policies or changes.
10. Ensure compliance with required external and internal controls and support external and internal audits.

Job Requirements

1. Minimum of 5 years in related Functions.
2. Degree or Diploma in Finance & Accounting/Commerce or equivalent with professional qualifications will be an added advantage e.g. ACCA/CPA/MIA.
3. Good communication skills and able to communicate effectively in English.
4. Knowledge of accounting principles is an advantage.
5. Able to thrive in a rapidly changing environment and adapt as needed.
6. Great team player with strong communication skills to collaborate across various departments and levels.
