About the Job

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant Manager, Finance (Hong Kong) to support the financial strategy, execution, and management of our Hong Kong entities. In this role, you will assist the local management team through economic analysis, planning, forecasting, and decision-making processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in executing the finance strategy and management for the local country entity
  • Review invoices, statements and prepare periodic payments processing
  • Support the local management team with economic analysis, planning, forecasting, and decision-making.
  • Aid in the effective management of working capital and treasury functions
  • Support tax compliance and audit activities to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements
  • Assist the Manager in leading the finance team's day-to-day finance and accounting functions including but not limited to month-end, quarterly, and annual closing/reporting
  • Assist in finance automation and transformation projects involving people, systems, tools, and processes
  • Ensure proper documentation and maintenance of accounting records in accordance with applicable regulatory and financial reporting frameworks
  • Prepare monthly reporting packages for HQ Finance and assist in quarterly reporting, due diligence audits, and Group audits
  • Assist in preparing and filing periodic tax and other statutory returns with relevant regulatory bodies
  • Liaise with Hong Kong auditors and regulators, including the Insurance Authority
  • Observe and support compliance with business controls, ensuring the efficiency, effectiveness, integrity, and business focus of financial systems and processes

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to Taiwan Market if required.
  • Provide any other ad-hoc functions as assigned by management.

In this role, we are looking for someone with:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting or related field
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA), preferably with auditing experience
  • At least 2-3 years of supervisory or managerial work experience in finance, audit, or accounting with a total of 6-8 years of relevant working experience.
  • Comfortable working in a multicultural and fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, quantitative, systematic, and organized
  • Fluent in English and Chinese, both verbal and written (written Traditional Chinese highly preferred)
  • Fluent in verbal Cantonese is a must
  • Proficient in Excel and finance/accounting software
  • Independent, proactive, high-energy, and with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • SAP working knowledge

Good to have:

  • Updated knowledge of the local Hong Kong tax system and commercial laws is a plus
  • Previous experience in the insurance brokerage business is a plus
