Assistant Manager, Data Analyst

Job Purpose

The Assistant Manager of the Analytics Team is responsible for overseeing a team of Data Analysts, Data Engineers, and Data Scientists within the Analytics Team to assist the Lead, Data Analytics in managing stakeholders, projects, and team coherence.

Analytics

• Work with stakeholders to identify and fulfill analytics needs to drive business further.
• Develop a robust understanding of Sime Darby Property’s business and data landscape.
• Advise business users on analytics-related queries.
• Prototype, develop, and enhance dashboard solutions to effectively deliver results of analytics to business users.
• Maintain and support existing dashboard operations.
• Collaborate with colleagues in the Analytics Team and Digital & Technology Office to solve business challenges.
• Lead a team of Data Analysts to perform efficiently.
• Encourage and spread data & analytics culture across the organization.
• Present ideas, solutions, and designs to customers and stakeholders.

Project Planning

• Collaborate with Business Users across the organization to deliver integration and analytics solutions to address needs and pain points of businesses.
• Ensure on-time, on-budget solution delivery and provide consistent work progress updates.

People & Stakeholders Management

• Provide strong support and advisory to ensure the objectives of the IT department are met.
• Maintain a good understanding of functional business strategies, expectations, requirements, and issues.
• Develop business rapport and understanding among stakeholders across various business units.

Analytics Solutioning

• Assist the team in solving analytics, data, and tech-related issues.
• Lead, guide, and mentor the team to ensure efficient delivery of Analytics and Digital solutions.

Development Implementation

• Participate in development as part of the team to deliver analytic solutions.
• Create and implement solutions aimed at business growth.

Operations Support

• Involved in day-to-day operations & support tasks to maintain analytics solutions.

Tech Advisory

• Assist the Lead, Analytics in establishing a Center of Excellence for all analytics-related support for the organization.

Technical Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of experience developing business intelligence applications.
• 4 years of relevant experience with Power BI required, preferably in Finance and Sales domains.
• Ability to multitask, managing primary projects while accommodating ad-hoc tasks.
• Must prioritize and manage time to meet deadlines while fitting in time for other tasks.
• Ideal candidate will act as a mentor to newer Data Analysts, explaining code, design, and processes, while being receptive to learning from Senior Developers.
• Strong quantitative, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Strong experience with RDBMS systems like Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or others.
• Stay updated with the latest technologies and offerings in the tech industry.
