Job description

Responsibilities

  1. Assist in the implementation, execution, and monitoring of corporate exercises of MMC Group, including proposals for listing, mergers and acquisitions, equity fundraising exercises, and reorganization and restructuring. Ensure smooth coordination with subsidiaries/investee companies to address potential issues related to these corporate exercises.
  2. Assist in the implementation/execution of special projects as instructed by Management, which includes business development activities and other finance functions to support MMC Group's aspiration to diversify its income stream and improve existing finance policies and procedures.
  3. Perform market and industry research, financial evaluation, and due diligence of competitors/target companies in various industries, including oil and gas, transportation and port, and property industries.
  4. Liaise with relevant corporate advisors from investment banks, solicitors, reporting accountants, equity capital advisory, brokerage advisory, and various regulatory bodies (e.g., Securities Commission of Malaysia and Bursa Malaysia Securities Sdn Bhd) in executing corporate exercises/investment activities undertaken by MMC Group.
  5. Provide corporate support services to relevant departments/divisions/companies within the company and MMC Group, where applicable and required.
  6. Provide input, comments, evaluation, valuation, and/or reports to relevant departments/divisions/companies within the company and MMC Group, where applicable and required.
  7. Prepare proposals and necessary Board Committee papers for review and approvals, as well as management reports when required.
  8. Assist in preparing periodic reports for Management.

Education/Professional Certification

  1. A recognised degree in accountancy and/or related fields from a recognised university; or
  2. A recognised professional accounting qualification, e.g., ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA.

Relevant Experience

  1. 3 to 5 years’ experience in corporate finance from investment banks, public listed companies, or boutique corporate finance and advisory firms.
  2. Knowledge of regulatory authorities’ guidelines and listing requirements.
  3. Knowledge of Companies Act 2016 and Capital Markets & Services Act, 2007 (as amended from time to time).
  4. Ability to interact and communicate with all levels.
