Job Description

This role is essential to the organization, and it is vital that the candidate has a track record of delivery and proven experience. Below are the key responsibilities:

  • Oversee and complete month-end and year-end financial closing procedures.
  • Reconcile and verify financial data, including inventory, intercompany transactions, and accounts receivable/payable.
  • Identify and correct transaction errors, and implement measures to prevent future mistakes.
  • Ensure financial compliance by assisting with internal and external audits.
  • Create and document financial processes, policies, and workflows to strengthen internal controls.
  • Collaborate with teams to develop and refine financial procedures.
  • Manage and mentor junior accounting staff.
  • Evaluate and improve accounting systems and processes.
  • Work closely with financial leadership to enhance financial operations.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal Assistant Manager, Accounting will confidently lead from the front and be responsible for the growth of the company. The candidate must possess the following key requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Professional accounting certification (CPA or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting management or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals and financial reporting.
  • Expert knowledge of GAAP accounting standards.
  • Proven experience in managing general ledger accounts and closing financial periods.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
  • Advanced Excel skills and data analysis capabilities.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong numerical abilities.
  • Good understanding of business operations and trends.
