As the Assistant Legal Manager, you shall be responsible for contract management, regulatory compliance, legal advisory, litigation support, and stakeholder coordination to uphold legal integrity in property development operations.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO DO:
Contract Management:
- Drafting, reviewing, and managing negotiation of legal documents such as letters, sale and purchase agreements, development agreements, lease/tenancy agreements, service contracts, and construction contracts.
- Tracking contract deadlines and ensuring timely execution of contractual obligations.
- Maintaining accurate contract databases and filing systems.
Compliance Management:
- Monitoring regulatory changes and ensuring adherence to relevant property development laws, including zoning, building codes, and environmental regulations.
- Preparing necessary legal filings and submissions to relevant authorities.
- Conducting due diligence on property acquisitions and development projects.
Legal Advice, Research and Analysis:
- Provide legal advice to various stakeholders.
- Conducting legal research on property development issues.
- Providing concise summaries of legal status.
- Assisting in the preparation of legal briefs and presentations.
Administrative Support:
- Maintaining legal documentation and files, ensuring proper organisation and accessibility.
- Coordinating with other departments, including sales, sales administration, project management, and finance, on legal matters.
- Overseeing legal administrative staff, assigning tasks, and monitoring workflow.
Litigation Support:
- Assisting with tribunal and pre-litigation activities, including gathering evidence and preparing legal documents.
- Coordinating with external panel legal counsels on litigation matters.
Communication and Others:
- Liaise with external regulatory bodies, external panel legal counsels, and stakeholders as necessary.
- Stay updated on changes to laws and regulations affecting the operational department and ensure timely adaptation.
- Any other ad hoc duties as may be assigned by the management from time to time.
DESIRED QUALIFICATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCES:
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Law (LL.B (Hons)) and called to the Malaysian Bar as an Advocate and Solicitor.
- At least a total of 5 – 7 years of working experience (PQE) gained in a law firm and/or in-house with a property developer/related field.
- Relevant experience in corporate and commercial law with a background in property development and/or real estate law.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of corporate and commercial law, property development regulations, and legal frameworks.
- Excellent contract drafting, review skills, and legal research.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
