Job Title: Assistant Key Account Manager – Hybrid

Location: Northern Malaysia – Penang

The Purpose of Role:

A successful Assistant Key Account Manager – Hybrid (AKAM-Hybrid) ensures the effective execution of sales strategies to drive volume offtake in both the Foodservice HORECA and Trade (General Trade and Cash and Carry) channels. This role is pivotal in enhancing outlet reach, SKU penetration, and usage through culinary-driven solution selling, as well as optimizing product distribution, pricing, shelving, and merchandising in selected channels.

Team Structure:

  • Reporting to: Sales Manager

  • Direct reports: Nil

  • Indirect reports: Nil

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for company’s given monthly/yearly target via close working relationship with internal (e.g. local sales & merchandising team, trade marketing, chef, supply chain) and external (e.g. foodservice operators, retailers (HQ/store manager or buyer), distributor) stakeholders.

Foodservice HORECA Channel:

  • Execute culinary-driven solution selling to increase outlet reach, SKU penetration and SKU usage in key operator groups.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key accounts in the HORECA sector.

  • Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities within the channel.

  • Collaborate with the culinary team to create tailored solutions for operators.

General Trade and Cash and Carry Channel:

  • Execute the four trade priorities: distribution, pricing, shelving, and merchandising.

  • Monitor and analyse sales performance to identify areas for improvement. Utilize analysis insights to conduct regular Joint Business Plan with key customers.

  • Develop, implement and monitor trade strategies (trade promotion, loyalty program, trade term) to drive sales growth and market share.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the trade channel.

Travel:

60% of traveling time is required.

Essential Experience/Skill/Knowledge:

  • Relevant experience in field sales/key account management

  • Experience with FMCG and/or Food Service background.

  • Good understanding in Malaysia Food Service industry.
