SUMMARY:
The Assistant IT Manager supports the IT Manager in overseeing the resort's technology infrastructure and IT operations. This role involves managing IT projects, providing technical support, and ensuring the smooth operation of all systems and networks. The Assistant IT Manager helps enhance the guest experience and improve operational efficiency through effective technology management.
ASSISTANT IT MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Key Responsibilities:
- IT Infrastructure Support
- Assist in the installation, maintenance, and management of all IT hardware and software systems.
- Support the IT Manager in ensuring the availability, reliability, and security of the resort's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and communication systems.
- Help manage IT vendors and service providers to ensure timely and efficient support and services.
- System Administration
- Monitor and maintain the resort's IT systems, including property management systems, reservation systems, and guest service applications.
- Perform regular system audits, backups, and disaster recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and system availability.
- Assist in implementing and enforcing IT policies and procedures to safeguard the resort's technology assets.
- Network Security
- Support the development and implementation of robust network security protocols to protect the resort's data and systems from cyber threats.
- Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability tests to identify and address potential risks.
- Educate staff on IT security best practices and ensure compliance with security policies.
- User Support and Training
- Provide technical support to staff and guests, resolving IT-related issues promptly and effectively.
- Conduct training sessions for employees to improve their IT skills and ensure they can use technology efficiently.
- Develop user manuals and guides for commonly used systems and applications.
- Project Management
- Assist in leading IT projects from planning to execution, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
- Coordinate with other departments to identify technology needs and implement solutions that enhance operational efficiency.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and systems to improve the resort's IT capabilities.
- Budget Management
- Assist in developing and managing the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective procurement and utilization of technology resources.
- Monitor IT expenses and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising service quality.
- Vendor Management
- Establish and maintain relationships with IT vendors and service providers.
- Assist in negotiating contracts and service agreements to ensure the best value for the resort.
- Monitor vendor performance and ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in an IT role, preferably in the hospitality industry.
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems administration, and network security.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively.
- Proficiency in IT management software and tools.
- Certification in relevant IT fields (e.g., CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft) is a plus.
