Job description

As an Assistant Human Resources Manager at Eastern & Oriental Express, A Belmond Train, you will support HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations. You will assist with managing employee records, ensuring compliance with company policies and labor laws, and addressing employee concerns. Additionally, you will coordinate training and development programs, performance management, and benefits administration. This role involves working closely with the Human Resources Director in daily operations and contributing to initiatives that enhance organizational culture and employee satisfaction. Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment & Onboarding: Assist in the recruitment process, including job postings, interviews, and candidate selection. Ensure smooth onboarding of new employees and orientation programs.
  • Employee Relations: Support in handling employee concerns, grievances, and disciplinary actions. Maintain positive employee relations and contribute to a healthy work environment.
  • Training & Development: Coordinate and support the planning and execution of training programs to enhance employee skills and development.
  • Performance Management: Assist in performance appraisals, employee evaluations, and feedback processes to ensure alignment with company goals.
  • Compliance & Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate employee records, ensuring compliance with company policies and labor regulations.
  • Benefits Administration: Assist with the administration of employee benefits, including health insurance, leave management, and other employee programs.
  • Reporting & Analytics: Assist with HR reporting and provide insights to improve HR processes, employee satisfaction, and retention.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in HR and L&D, preferably in an assistant or coordinator role.
  • Strong knowledge of Malaysia labor laws, Employment Pass, Work Permit and HR best practices.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR software systems.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information.
