Job description

Our client is seeking an Assistant General Manager, Operation to manage the operational performance of their Manufacturing Plants. This role offers a unique opportunity to drive continuous operational excellence and lead a dedicated Operations Team towards achieving financial targets, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring legislative adherence. The position comes with a competitive salary starting from RM300,000 and is based in Negeri Sembilan.

What You'll Do

As an Assistant General Manager, Operation, your role will be pivotal in managing the operational performance of our client's Manufacturing Plants. You will be responsible for planning and directing plant activities to ensure financial performance, quality standards, cultural goals, and legislative compliance are met. Your leadership will foster a culture of continuous operational excellence within the team. You will also develop operational budgets while monitoring and reporting on various operational aspects. Your strategic planning skills will be crucial in formulating plans in operations, technology, and engineering.

  1. Manage the operational performance of the Manufacturing Plants, including Engineering, Production, Logistics, and Warehouse.
  2. Plan and direct plant activities to achieve financial performance, quality standards, cultural goals, and legislative compliance.
  3. Cultivate a culture of continuous operational excellence and lean manufacturing within the Operations Team.
  4. Develop and deliver operational budgets.
  5. Monitor, measure, and report on operational issues, improvement programs, development plans, and achievements.
  6. Set and manage key performance indicators for direct reports to achieve objectives in customer requirements, people engagement and development, processes, and financial outcomes.
  7. Formulate strategic and tactical plans in the areas of operations, technology, and engineering.
What You Bring

To excel as an Assistant General Manager, Operation you need to bring a wealth of experience from high-volume Process Manufacturing. Your educational background in Engineering coupled with at least 8 years of managerial experience will be vital for this role. Experience in OEM is a must-have for this position. If you have an industry background in chemical or paper mill or any other continuous process manufacturing it would be considered an added advantage.

  1. A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required.
  2. A minimum of 15 years of working experience in high-volume Process Manufacturing is essential.
  3. At least 8 years of experience in managerial positions is necessary.
