Assembly Engineer (m/f/d)

Based In Melaka Job Description

Assemble modules, perform quality checks, troubleshoot issues, and maintain productivity. Mentor staff, develop work instructions, and assist with SAP tasks. Lead improvements in quality, safety, and efficiency. Handle heavy modules and tooling machines, while ensuring documentation is up-to-date. Additional tasks as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

1. Assemble modules according to technical documents using assembly tools provided.
2. Perform quality checks on own and other staff's assembled modules.
3. Drive quality topics, remind everyone of quality priority, and practice quality awareness.
4. Perform error search/troubleshooting of modules in test station or machine.
5. Responsible for production hour bookings (BDE) and productivity of self and staff.
6. Maintain housekeeping of work area and assembly (parts/modules arrangement, organizing work table, and controlling chemical and tools cabinet).
7. Develop and maintain standardized work instructions for all assigned areas.
8. Complete all necessary assembly reporting and required paperwork.
9. Attend quality, machine planning, and organizational meetings when required.
10. Handle and assemble heavy modules.
11. Operate tooling machines when required (hand-drill, drilling machine, lathe machine, grinding machine, milling machine, etc.).
12. Mentor new staff, trainees, and part-timers as assigned.
13. Transfer knowledge to new staff and trainees on tool usage, chemical usage, and basic machine knowledge.
14. Support leader and superior for SAP system:
1. Create notifications.
2. Check stock availability in MB plant.
3. Create SL-number for modules.
4. Book modules into stock in PAWH.
15. Follow up on purchase and precision parts required for complete assembly.
16. Assist in creation of procedural documents (SOP/OPL).
17. Update documentation of all types: schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams, maintenance log, instruction manuals, etc. Keep documentation ready for use when needed.
18. Perform hands-on assembly when required in Pre or Final Assembly.
19. Lead improvement activities for quality, delivery, cost, and safety objectives, supporting continuous improvement through Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing Process.
20. Develop meaningful alternative solutions to identified ergonomics problems and propose practical design solutions specific to the worksite.
21. Be responsible for other tasks assigned by your superior.

Requirements

1. Diploma, Advanced/Higher Diploma, or Bachelor Degree in Electrical / Mechanical / Mechatronics.
2. Ability to efficiently use all computer literacy MS Office applications.
3. Good planning, organizing, communication, follow-up, and coordination skills.
4. Proactive, resourceful, and able to multitask with a sense of urgency.
5. Ability to converse fluently in verbal and written Chinese, English, and Bahasa Malaysia.
6. Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
7. Self-motivated and able to motivate others in the team.
