As a Nando’s Area Manager, you’ll play a vital role in delivering exceptional experiences for both our customers and restaurant teams. Overseeing multiple restaurants, you’ll guide and support our Restaurant Managers, ensuring smooth operations, driving excellence, and fostering team development.
You’ll act as the bridge between our Restaurant Support (HQ) team and on-ground teams, collaborating with colleagues across departments like Marketing, Learning & Development, and Finance to achieve our People, Brand, and Commercial goals.
In this role, you’ll report to a Regional General Manager, who will provide mentorship and support to help you excel.

What you’ll do:
People

- People Standards: Ensure that Nando's People standards are upheld across your area, emphasizing fairness, dignity, and respect.
- Team Development: Develop your restaurant management team in your area, serving as a mentor and inspiring growth.
- Strategic Partnership: Act as a bridge between your area's restaurants and Restaurant Support (HQ) functions, working collaboratively to achieve Nando's KPI goals and represent Operations to remove barriers for restaurants and set them up for success.
- Optimal Staffing: Work with your Restaurant Managers to ensure that we have the right people with the right skills in the right places for every shift in the restaurants.
Brand
- Brand Consistency: Ensure consistent execution of Nando's brand experience across your area by continuously reviewing, monitoring, and enhancing performance in People, Product, and Place.
- Brand Advocate: Collaborate with your team to identify and implement opportunities that foster brand love and customer loyalty in your area, serving as an ambassador for the brand and ensuring the execution of national and local marketing plans. Coach Restaurant Managers on understanding and prioritizing the in-restaurant experience to drive long term growth.
- Customer Insights: Comprehend and identify customer trends in your area, providing valuable guidance to your teams and sharing these insights with the Business.
- Compliance and Safety: Uphold compliance with all legal and internal standards in the restaurants within your area by holding your restaurant manager to account, ensuring relevant training, daily checks, and food safety protocols are in place to protect our brand, our people, and our customers.
- Customer Relations: Serve as the point of contact for customer complaints in your area, ensuring they are handled in alignment with Nando's service recovery standards.
Commercial
- Performance Growth: Drive sustainable growth in the overall performance of your area by setting targets, effectively communicating a clear vision to achieve these targets, and providing support to your teams to deliver that vision.
- Financial Input: Contribute to the financial planning process, including target setting, and offer valuable inputs.
- Profit Management: Take responsibility for monitoring and enhancing profits by exercising control over operating costs (GP, Labor, M&R, etc.) and cultivating your team's capabilities to improve profitability and overall performance.
- Issue Resolution: Skillfully diagnose existing or potential issues within your area, utilizing relevant insights, and collaborating with Support and restaurant teams to address these challenges proactively.
- New Restaurant Opening: Play an important role in supporting the opening of new restaurants, working closely with the Restaurant Manager and collaborating with relevant Support functions to ensure new openings are set up for success.
Hot Skills:
- Diploma or Degree or equivalent in Business Management / Operations Management / Food & Beverage Management / Business Studies
- At least 3 to 4 years of working experience in retail operation management, specializing in Food/Beverage/Restaurant Service or equivalent
- Experience working in restaurant management or working in an international brand restaurant business is an added advantage
- Preferably with experience in multi-site management
- Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills
- Dynamic, proactive and motivated, with high integrity
- Ability to think in a structured way
- Be results-driven; always align your team to the department and company goals
- Possess strong interpersonal skills and can work well in a team
- Able to impact and influence other stakeholders
- Must be open to traveling within Klang Valley and Peninsular Malaysia or within Sabah and nearby areas, depending on your assigned location
