Job description

Anaika Collections Sdn Bhd as a subsidiary of the Valiram Group (www.valiram.com), is a fashion-forward company that has exclusive retail rights to operate stores for famous and emerging brand names such as Charles & Keith, Pedro & Wycon Cosmetics. Commanding a large presence in Malaysia as well as in Singapore and with its continuous expansion plans, we are always on the lookout for highly motivated and driven individuals who are keen to join our ever-expanding family and be a part of a leading specialty retailer and brand builder. We currently have close to 50 stores in Malaysia and are continuously growing each year.

POSITION SUMMARY

  • Provide responsible and skilled leadership in directing all retail aspects of the Brand in the Area.
  • Drive sales and profitability of the Stores within the Area.
  • Manage the retail operations, training and visual merchandising aspects of the stores in the area in line with the Brand and Valiram standards.
  • Oversee and maintain inventory integrity – minimize stock losses & ensure monthly (& daily if necessary) stock counts for all stores designated.
  • Work with the Store Managers/PICs to effectively lead recruitment and development of retail staff.
  • Foster a positive, engaging ethical working environment and bring inspiring leadership and guidance to retail team within the Area.
  • Maximize staff productivity, ensuring consistent compliance with the execution of all company Policy & Procedures and maintains a result-driven working environment within his/her Area.

As an Area Manager, you are expected to:

Optimize the Stores' sales and profits

  • Work together with Operations Manager to maximize sales efficiency by ensuring accurate, timely and commercial sales planning and forecasting for the stores designated.
  • Ensure the brand delivers business plan profit through delivery of both volume and cash margin in existing as well as new stores in the area.
  • Manage all new store openings from a retail operations perspective.
  • Daily, weekly and monthly action plan to deliver the expected sales results.
  • Analyse sales figures, monitor expenses to optimize sales and profits.

Achieve & Maintain High Service & Best Retail Working Standards

  • Work with Store Manager/PICs to train and coach floor staff on customer service, selling skills, product knowledge, etc. to ensure the highest level of service is achieved.
  • Work with the store team to best handle customer complaints/feedback.
  • Provide exemplary customer services to floor staff and ensure customers’ complaints are handled tactfully in a professional manner with proper follow-up.

Day to Day Retail Operations Excellence

  • Lead and monitor day-to-day retail operations and monitor sales achievement of the Brand for all stores.
  • Check if retail standards are being followed and work with Store Managers/PICs to resolve discrepancies in retail standards.
  • Visit and monitor designated stores regularly, communicate with Store Managers/ PICs, sales staff and customers to receive constructive feedback, and if necessary, assist in resolving ad-hoc issues at the store level.
  • Monitor Rosters of all staff/all stores and manage Store PICs performance.
  • Review the designated stores team performance appraisals, providing immediate feedback (both positive and development) in order to recognize and praise excellent performance and to develop areas of need.
  • Conduct on-the-job trainings and give proper product trainings/knowledge and lead the floor staff in achieving sales and other store targets.
  • Regular meetings to ensure accurate and consistent communication to the staff of all designated stores.
  • Responsible to check and review designated store rosters within the floor area, ensuring that all floor requirements are covered during operating hours.

Reporting

  • Ensure the appropriate daily, weekly and monthly reports submission are delivered on time.
  • Responsible to check and ensure CRC Database is updated on a constant basis.

Personal Development

  • Responsible for data collating for all reports pertaining to sales, customer service, inventory control, logistics in timeline given.
  • To attend and participate in all related training courses conducted internally or externally.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have prior fashion retail experience
  • At least a Certificate or Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in any discipline
  • At least 7-8 years of retail experience with a minimum of 5-6 years in retail management or related field
  • Good Interpersonal & communication skills
  • Analytical and business-driven
  • Willing to travel
  • Fluent in English in written and spoken. Able to converse in other languages is an added advantage
