Job description

Application Support Specialist job description seeks candidates with both business skills and technical IT knowledge. You'll work closely with internal teams and vendors to provide payment systems support in all areas of applications, including testing, design and analysis. You'll have the opportunity to develop and implement procedures, policies, and processes to ensure and improve system quality. In this role, you will monitor payment system processes to ensure timely and efficient resolution of IT application-related incidents by providing a 24x7 support model.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Degree in Computer Science / Information Technology or any other relevant qualification.
  2. Min 2 years’ experience working under application development or application support
  3. Knowledge of Linux commands and shell scripting and have working experience with databases such as MS-SQL, Oracle, or Postgres DB will be an advantage.
  4. Highly self-motivated, dedicated, proactive, and versatile. 24X7 commitment is needed.
  5. Good interpersonal skills, coordination skills, and good problem-solving & analytical skills.
  6. Self-motivated, ability to adapt to change in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks, and embrace new technology.
  7. Knowledge of the payment ecosystem is a plus.

Application Support & Monitoring:

  1. Provide primary support for payment system applications.
  2. Aggressively respond to service requests.
  3. Manage and coordinate the SIT and UAT with technical, testing teams according to the testing strategy.
  4. Follow-up on findings, keeping track of the issues and rectification, audit and compliance, and ensure actions are taken & implemented as required.
  5. Troubleshoot or escalate technical issues, working to provide solutions quickly.
  6. Maintain technical documentation.

Incident & Problem Management:

  1. Liaise with respective teams and vendors to ensure incidents and problems are resolved in a timely and professional manner.
  2. Participate and ensure RCA (root cause analysis) activities on customer-impacting incidents are executed and action items are assigned/completed.
  3. Provide expertise and support during critical incidents, interfacing with all impacted groups to better manage the message.
