Job description
ROLE PURPOSE:
Assist Associate Risk Specialist/Risk Specialist in ensuring effective implementation of strategic outcomes and coordination with other stakeholders in the financial stability sector of BNM.
To ensure continuous horizontal surveillance across the industry to identify emerging risks and manage risks to financial stability.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Assist in continuous horizontal surveillance across the financial industry to identify, assess, and manage emerging risks to financial stability.
Assist in the assessment of complex and technical areas to support supervisory assessment, policy development, and surveillance.
Assist in the review of internal measurement models, systems, and methodologies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and global best practices.
Provide initial input on technical areas and views for policy development and new product approval. Participate in the critical technical review of global regulatory reforms.
Assist in capacity building of supervisors in technical areas.
Work closely with relevant stakeholders in the bank and industry. Engage with RMs of supervision departments to ensure contributions by RSTS add value in strengthening supervision.
CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTORS:
Ability to identify risks to stability through horizontal assessment of risks in FIs.
Effective collaboration and networking with internal and external stakeholders.
REQUIREMENTS:
Candidate must obtain 5 credits in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) for subjects including Bahasa Melayu, English, and Mathematics.
Academic Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or related disciplines such as Accounting, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, Islamic Finance, Shariah, or relevant fields with a minimum CGPA of 3.00 or Second Class Upper.
OR
Professional accountancy qualification (ACCA, MICPA, etc.) from a reputable academic institution.
Possess a minimum of 2 years of work experience in the related field.
