Agronomist Executive

We are looking for a knowledgeable, thorough Agronomist who can develop better farming practices and find effective solutions for our cash crop. The Agronomist will conduct research and field checks, take samples and make observations, perform tests, and identify and solve problems related to plant or soil nutrition, damage from insects or wildlife, weather or climate changes, or the use of specialized products, such as pesticides and fertilizers.

As our Agronomist, you should be focused on developing and promoting better farming practices. You should be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and analytical with excellent listening, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and manage all aspects of durian crop production, including planting, cultivation, irrigation, fertilization, pest and disease control, and harvesting.
• Coordinate, monitor, and plan fertilizer programs for Durian Trees and other crops (if any) within the estate.
• Identify, monitor, and control pests, diseases, and weeds that may affect durian trees. Implement integrated pest management strategies, including biological, chemical, and cultural control methods, to maintain optimal plant health.
• Develop training plans and conduct training sessions for the operational team at the estate.
• Perform feasibility studies as and when required by the company.
• Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures and contribute to the development of policies and procedures as the company expands.
• Conduct inspections for fertilizer sampling in the estates.
• Prepare monthly progress reports.
• Undertake any other tasks or projects assigned by superiors upon request.

Requirements:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Crop Science, Plantation, or a related field.
• Familiarity with durian cultivation practices, agricultural equipment, and technology used in durian plantations will be a plus.
• A passion for agriculture.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physical fitness and willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Superb communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in data analysis and record-keeping.
• Willing to work at the Plantation site located at Behrang Stesen, Tanjung Malim.
