Accounting Manager

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to oversee the financial accounting and reporting functions of our company in Petaling Jaya. This role requires strong technical accounting skills, leadership abilities, and a proactive approach to process improvement.

Responsibilities:

Financial Accounting and Reporting:

1. Oversee and manage the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and fixed assets.
2. Ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions in accordance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and other relevant regulations.
3. Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including the statement of financial position, statement of profit or loss and other comprehensive income, statement of changes in equity, and statement of cash flows.
4. Ensure timely and accurate submission of statutory reports to relevant authorities (e.g., Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri (LHDN), Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia (SSM)).
5. Manage the preparation and filing of tax returns (e.g., corporate tax, SST).

Internal Controls and Compliance:

1. Establish and maintain a robust system of internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial information.
2. Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
3. Participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and addressing audit findings.
4. Implement and monitor adherence to accounting policies and procedures.

Team Leadership and Management:

1. Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
2. Assign tasks, set performance expectations, and conduct performance reviews for direct reports.
3. Provide guidance and support to team members on complex accounting issues.
4. Identify training needs and facilitate professional development opportunities for the team.

Financial Analysis and Support:

1. Perform financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and potential risks or opportunities.
2. Provide insightful financial information and support to management for strategic decision-making.
3. Assist in the development of budgets and forecasts.
4. Participate in cost analysis and control initiatives.

Qualifications:

1. Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, MIA) is highly preferred.
2. Minimum 10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
3. Strong technical knowledge of Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and other relevant accounting principles.
4. Proven experience in preparing and reviewing financial statements and statutory reports.
5. Familiarity with Malaysian tax regulations and compliance requirements.
6. Proficiency in accounting software/ERP systems and strong Microsoft Excel skills.
