ACCOUNTING MANAGER

Job Title: Accountant/Accounting Manager
Location: Cyberjaya, Selangor
Reports To: Director, Finance & Compliance

Job Summary
The Accountant/Accounting Manager will oversee the organization's accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all financial processes. This role involves managing financial records, preparing reports, overseeing taxation matters, and providing strategic financial insights to support decision-making. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and has a deep understanding of accounting principles, taxation, and practices, including consolidation of accounts for a group of companies.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting Operations
   • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
   • Consolidate financial statements for the holding company and its subsidiaries or divisions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
   • Ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions.
   • Perform regular account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
2. Taxation and Compliance
   • Oversee the preparation and submission of all tax returns, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
   • Manage tax planning, including the identification of tax-saving opportunities and risk mitigation strategies.
   • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations, ensuring the organization remains compliant.
   • Handle tax audits and liaise with external tax consultants or regulatory authorities when necessary.
3. Financial Reporting
   • Prepare consolidated and individual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
   • Monitor and analyze accounting data to produce meaningful financial insights.
   • Develop and implement financial reporting systems and tools for efficient data analysis.
4. Budgeting and Forecasting
   • Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial planning activities.
   • Monitor actual performance against budgeted goals and provide variance analysis.
5. Audit and Compliance
   • Prepare for and coordinate internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
   • Ensure compliance with financial reporting standards (GAAP/IFRS) and internal controls.
6. Team Leadership (if applicable)
   • Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, ensuring professional development and task efficiency.
   • Foster a collaborative and productive team environment.
7. Process Improvement
   • Identify and implement best practices to improve accounting and taxation processes.
   • Recommend and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance internal controls.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
• Proven experience 6 to 7 years as an Accountant, Senior Accountant, or Accounting Manager.
• Strong experience in taxation, including tax compliance, planning, and audits.
• Experience in consolidating financial statements for groups of companies or similar structures.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS) and financial reporting standards.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
