Job description

A reforestation company listed on SGX is seeking a highly motivated, high performing, committed and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Able to handle full sets of accounts and statutory reports with minimal supervision.
  2. Manage and oversee full spectrum of accounting and financial functions, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations.
  3. Responsible for timely and accurate month-end & year-end financial closing, including analytical reviews.
  4. Monitor cash flow and manage financial transactions efficiently.
  5. Assist in preparing consolidated accounts, budgets, cash flow projections, announcements, board papers, annual reports and sustainability reports.
  6. Enhance financial and management reporting systems, strengthen internal controls, and ensure policy compliance.
  7. Coordinate with external auditors, internal auditors, tax agents, company secretaries, bankers and others as required.
  8. Handle tax matters, including tax computation, tax estimates, timely filings, and compliance with relevant tax legislation.
  9. Handle Sustainability and Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), ensuring compliance with relevant requirements.
  10. Support human resources and administrative tasks.
  11. Perform other tasks as assigned by the superior.

Job Requirements

  1. Bachelor of Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  2. Professional Accounting Certification (eg: ACCA, ICAEW, CPA) or equivalent qualification is a must.
  3. Minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience.
  4. Detail-oriented with strong analytical, problem-solving and multitasking skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  5. Proactive, quick adaptable, and able to work independently or in a team with high integrity.
  6. Excellent time management, organizational skills and communication.
  7. Experience in the timber industry, audit firms, or tax knowledge is an advantage.
  8. Familiarity with group consolidation, public-listed company reporting and sustainability reporting is an advantage.
  9. Stay updated on the latest Financial Reporting Standards, tax rulings and SGX requirements.
  10. Proficiency in SQL Payroll and AutoCount is an advantage.
  11. Willingness to travel as required.
