Accountant
Job description
A reforestation company listed on SGX is seeking a highly motivated, high performing, committed and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team.
Key Responsibilities
- Able to handle full sets of accounts and statutory reports with minimal supervision.
- Manage and oversee full spectrum of accounting and financial functions, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations.
- Responsible for timely and accurate month-end & year-end financial closing, including analytical reviews.
- Monitor cash flow and manage financial transactions efficiently.
- Assist in preparing consolidated accounts, budgets, cash flow projections, announcements, board papers, annual reports and sustainability reports.
- Enhance financial and management reporting systems, strengthen internal controls, and ensure policy compliance.
- Coordinate with external auditors, internal auditors, tax agents, company secretaries, bankers and others as required.
- Handle tax matters, including tax computation, tax estimates, timely filings, and compliance with relevant tax legislation.
- Handle Sustainability and Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), ensuring compliance with relevant requirements.
- Support human resources and administrative tasks.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the superior.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional Accounting Certification (eg: ACCA, ICAEW, CPA) or equivalent qualification is a must.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical, problem-solving and multitasking skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Proactive, quick adaptable, and able to work independently or in a team with high integrity.
- Excellent time management, organizational skills and communication.
- Experience in the timber industry, audit firms, or tax knowledge is an advantage.
- Familiarity with group consolidation, public-listed company reporting and sustainability reporting is an advantage.
- Stay updated on the latest Financial Reporting Standards, tax rulings and SGX requirements.
- Proficiency in SQL Payroll and AutoCount is an advantage.
- Willingness to travel as required.
