Accountant

We are representing our client which is an Investment Service Provider in Malaysia.
They are looking for a potential candidate to fill the position of Accountant to be based at Jalan Sultan Ismail, KL.

Salary: up to RM9,000
Position Title: Accountant
Working Days: 5 working days (Office Hour)

Responsibilities:

• To take responsibility for the execution of financial duties and projects of the company and department.
• To liaise with Auditor on audit queries and drafting auditor reports.
• To liaise with Tax Agent on tax queries, handle tax computation and returns.
• To liaise with Co Sec matters that relate to banking and audit.
• To liaise with Bankers to ensure smooth operations and cash management functions.
• To review financial journal entries, reports and supervise month-end processes.
• To review account payables items and staff claims to ensure compliance with policies and proper authorization.
• To review bank instructions and payment vouchers against supporting documents to ensure accuracy and completeness before payment.
• To review preparation and submission of SST, WHT, and Stamp Duty.
• To prepare cash flow projections, monitor funding requests and ensure adequate money to settle payment obligations and spare funds are invested.
• To assist in preparing annual budgets and updating quarterly forecasts.
• To monitor budget/forecast metrics, track actual costs, and prepare variance analysis.
• To prepare Monthly Financial Reports with variance analysis for Senior Management.
• To prepare reports to Regulatory Bodies of Capital Market and Financial Services industry.
• To assist in Board paper preparation.
• To assist the Financial Controller in meetings with Department PICs to develop strategic plans, brainstorm ways of process improvements, and manage the financial bottom line.
• To provide training to staff members regarding financial processes.
• To assist the Finance Department in other accounting functions of the company and subsidiaries.

Job Requirements:

• A Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
• ACCA qualified or equivalent is preferred.
• At least 5 years of working experience in a senior position within Accounting and Finance.
• A good understanding of financial management obligations, especially statutory obligations and requirements.
• Good report-writing and communication skills.
• Proficiency in financial planning and presentation software.
