Job Responsibilities:

As an Accountant, you will play a crucial role in our expanding business operations. Your responsibilities include:

• Accurate and timely preparation of full sets of accounts, including monthly management reports with analysis, required schedules, bank reconciliation, and intercompany reconciliation, across our diverse ventures.
• Assisting in the preparation of budgets, including verifying yearly forecasting and budgeting for our expanding portfolio.
• Constantly reviewing the adequacy of company insurance coverage, ensuring that it aligns with the varied risks presented by our different ventures.
• Ensuring timely and accurate preparation and submission of all applicable tax returns, including WT & SST return submission, in accordance with the regulatory requirements of each business segment.
• Assisting in treasury matters and cash flow planning, ensuring adequate funding for the growth of our multiple projects.
• Accurate and timely preparation of full sets of financial statements, notes to accounts, audit schedules, and attending to auditors' inquiries across our diverse ventures.
• Handling and resolving operational issues, discrepancies, and abnormal transactions related to accounting in our expanding business landscape.
• Liaising with authorities, external auditors, and bankers on finance-related issues across various industries.
• Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, accounting standards, tax regulations, company policies, and SOP, adapting them to the specific needs of each venture.
• Continuous improvement in financial reporting processes and SOP for the Finance Department as we expand into new territories.
• Developing and implementing appropriate internal controls, including management of stock/inventory to minimize wastage and other losses, tailoring them to the unique challenges of each venture.
• Ensuring all accounting records and documents are properly filed and maintained to support our diverse business operations.
• Leading and supervising a team of account officers and executives, guiding them in navigating the financial complexities of our expanding ventures.
• Undertaking any other assignments/projects that may be assigned from time to time, as we continue to diversify our business interests.
• Handling any other ad-hoc duties or tasks assigned by management to support our ever-expanding endeavors.

Job Requirements:

To excel in this role, you must meet the following requirements:

• Possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting / Finance or Professional Qualification in ACCA or equivalent.
• A member of accountancy professional bodies (i.e. ACA, ACCA, CPA, MIA, CIMA, or equivalent).
• Have a minimum of 5 - 7 years working experience in the relevant field and at least 3 years of experience in auditing or taxation with a reputable organization or a reputable audit firm.
• Experience to work in retail or microfinance industry is an added advantage.
• Have experience with MFRS or MPERS reporting framework and be familiar with reconciliation and other analysis reporting tools; Knowledge in consolidation accounting is an added advantage.
• Possess strong financial analysis and presentation skills, problem-solving abilities, communication skills, and interpersonal skills.
• Be proficient in MS Office suite including MS Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint.
