About the Role
X Consultancy Group is looking for an experienced and results-driven Manager/Assistant Manager – Accounting to lead our growing team in Bukit Jalil and Kepong, Kuala Lumpur. This role is pivotal in ensuring the delivery of high-quality financial reporting, tax compliance, and advisory services to our diverse client base while supporting business growth and operational excellence.
As a Manager/Assistant Manager, you will oversee client accounts, lead a team of accountants, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and provide strategic financial insights. The role also involves client management, workflow optimization, and team development, making it ideal for a professional who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Client & Financial Management
- Oversee the preparation of full sets of accounts for multiple clients, ensuring accuracy and adherence to Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS, MPERS, IFRS).
- Ensure timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, including financial statements, tax computations, and management reports.
- Monitor cash flow management and financial performance analysis, providing clients with insights and recommendations.
- Manage audit, tax (SST, withholding tax), and statutory compliance, ensuring all submissions meet LHDN, SSM, and regulatory deadlines.
Operational & Compliance Excellence
- Implement and enforce internal controls to maintain the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
- Ensure compliance with Income Tax Act, Companies Act, and SST regulations.
- Optimize accounting processes by leveraging automation and digital solutions to improve efficiency and reporting accuracy.
Team Leadership & Client Advisory
- Supervise, mentor, and provide technical guidance to junior accountants, ensuring high standards of performance.
- Conduct internal training and knowledge-sharing sessions to keep the team updated on regulatory changes and best practices.
- Serve as a key client liaison, advising on tax planning, compliance strategies, and business financial structures.
- Identify business development opportunities and provide value-added financial advisory services to clients.
Requirements & Qualifications
Technical & Industry Expertise
- Degree in Accounting/Finance or ACCA/MICPA/CPA Malaysia qualification.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in an accounting firm, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong understanding of MFRS, MPERS, SST, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards.
- Hands-on experience with accounting software such as Autocount, SQL, UBS, and Xero.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial modelling, reporting, and analysis.
Leadership & Management Skills
- Strong people management and leadership skills, with experience mentoring junior staff.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities to handle client and operational challenges effectively.
- Proven ability to manage multiple clients, deadlines, and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong client relationship management skills with the ability to communicate financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
Soft Skills & Language Proficiency
- Fluent in English and Mandarin (spoken and written) to liaise with local and international clients.
- High attention to detail and analytical thinking for effective financial decision-making.
- Proactive, self-driven, and adaptable to industry changes and regulatory updates.
