Account Executive/Senior Account Executive

Job Summary:

The Account Executive is a critical member of the finance team, responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records for a dynamic multi-outlet restaurant business. This role involves meticulous attention to detail, efficient processing of transactions, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The successful candidate will work closely with operational teams to support seamless financial management across outlets.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Accurately record daily sales transactions, operational expenses, and outlet-level cash flows.
  2. Perform regular bank reconciliations and maintain updated records of bank transactions.
  3. Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
  4. Prepare accurate monthly financial statements, including outlet-level income statements and balance sheets.
  5. Generate detailed sales and profitability reports for each outlet, highlighting key financial metrics.
  6. Collaborate with the Account Admin to assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.

Taxation and Compliance:

  1. Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, including SST submissions, EPF, SOCSO, and EIS.
  2. Maintain up-to-date documentation for audit and tax filing purposes.
  3. Support the Finance Manager during internal and external audits by providing relevant records and reports.

Cost and Inventory Management:

  1. Monitor and verify inventory purchase invoices against delivery orders and supplier agreements.
  2. Assist in evaluating food and beverage costs to identify areas for cost optimization.
  3. Reconcile discrepancies in stock balances in collaboration with outlet managers.

Operational Support:

  1. Address and resolve financial queries raised by outlet managers and other departments.
  2. Provide timely support during month-end and year-end closing activities.
  3. Maintain an organized filing system for financial documents, contracts, and reports.

Process Improvement:

  1. Identify opportunities for streamlining accounting processes to enhance efficiency.
  2. Assist in the implementation of new accounting software or system upgrades.

Qualifications and Skills:

Educational Background:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  2. Professional qualifications (e.g., CAT, part-ACCA, part-CIMA) will be an added advantage.

Experience:

  1. Minimum 2-3 years of working experience in accounting, preferably in the F&B, retail, or hospitality industry.
  2. Experience in managing multi-outlet accounts is highly desirable.

Technical Proficiency:

  1. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and Malaysian tax regulations.
  2. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SQL, AutoCount) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (e.g., Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP).
  3. Familiarity with POS systems and their integration with financial reporting is an advantage.
  4. Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  5. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  6. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  7. Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  8. Integrity and ability to handle sensitive financial data responsibly.

  2. Timeliness of financial reporting and compliance submissions.
  3. Reduction in discrepancies and errors in inventory and payment processing.
