Work closely with the operation Manager to review, evaluate and operate the electrical system including:
Provide advice to management on compliance with the Electricity Supply Act 447 and Electricity Regulation 1994.
Responsible for signing off Permit to Work for electrical projects and maintenance while ensuring all safety standards are complied with.
Perform new production tool buy off to ensure compliance with the act.
Audit electrical installations to ensure compliance.
Work closely with the electrical engineer on project design and commissioning.
Guide Chargeman of the site to maintain electrical equipment.
Connect between owner and energy commission in any mode of communications including the submission of weekly Form I to Energy Commission.
Advise and assist in the establishment of the Emergency Response Plan and Emergency Remedial and Recovery Action Plan.
Monitor, review and analyze any alarms, update failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA) & electrical risk assessment.
Perform weekly inspection of 132kV installations and submit report to Energy Commission.
Liaise with TNB and local authorities related to power supply outages and plan shutdown maintenance activities pertaining to electrical and HV power distribution systems. Attend to power supply interruption and breakdown.
Ensure all maintenance and operations programs are properly implemented to achieve optimum and sustainable performance.
Ensure no downtime caused by lack of maintenance or troubleshooting, improper maintenance or troubleshooting procedures, or inadequate maintenance frequency for equipment.
Ensure smooth operation without interruption or near miss due to negligence in daily operation and maintenance activities.
Ensure that scheduled routine readings and maintenance work for HT/LV and genset systems are carried out.
Monitor defect rectification works by turnkey contractors.
Comply with predefined schedules and complete all maintenance and operations on time.
Arrange and supervise manning for day-to-day maintenance and services operation.
Optimize maintenance and operation procedures to improve energy saving.
Able to manage the maintenance scope (maintenance, repair & operations (MRO) for building M&E, RO water treatment plant, Compressor (CDA Systems – Compressors, driers, cooling systems, boosters, motors, piping, valves, actuators), Vacuum Chiller, HVAC Cooling system, and Bulk gas system).
Able to manage Vacuum Systems – Plant vacuum equipment, distribution system, controls, and monitoring.
SCADA and Controls Systems – monitoring and alarm management, trending and reporting for all site systems.
Support and monitor sites in emergency situations.
Low Voltage systems including ACB, Switchgears, MCC, PFIC, PDB etc.
Power System and Controls single-line diagram interpretation
UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) and DC chargers system
VFD (Variable-speed drives)
Earthing and bonding
PFIC system
Fire detection and Suppression system
HT and LT Motors including their protections and control
HV, MV and LV Power and control cables.
Lighting and distributions.
Job Requirements:
Must be registered as 132kV Competent Electrical Engineer with Energy Commission or Professional Engineers with Practising Certificated (PEPC) of Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) or Institute of Engineers Malaysia (IEM).
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering registered with BEM.
Minimum 10 years of site supervision experience, especially in electrical engineering projects.
Preferred candidate from the manufacturing industry.
At least 5 years of experience in 132kV operations.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and quality standards.
Excellent project management and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Applicants should be willing to be based in Melaka.
