Sr. Product Engineer I

Purpose: This position is responsible for providing support and performing project activities related to:

1. Writing Engineering Change Orders
2. Writing BOM’s in SAP
3. Correcting BOM errors
4. Summarizing testing data and DVP&R
5. Conducting Tear Down of project samples and reporting findings to meet customers’ requirements and expectations under the supervision and mentoring of Lead Acid System Engineers.

Assist as needed in project activities related to the build of engineering samples to measure and sample plates, DUF and WET batteries and process parameters.

Specific Responsibilities and Deliverables:

1. Executes activities related to the design, development, and validation of products.
2. Prepare detailed plans to track area performance and assure timely completion and achievement of project goals.
3. Support team members on any regional product line projects.
4. Report on project progress to management on a weekly and monthly basis.
5. Participate in analyzing new designs using DFMEA and risk assessment.
6. Coordinates testing and analyzing results.
7. Participate in D-FMEA development.
8. Responsible for BOM documentation and release for ED/DV/PV trials.
9. Plan and follow project sample testing required for OE, OES and AM programs.
10. Lead Acid equipment and tool knowledge.
11. Work in small teams for build execution as necessary.
12. Supports engineering product validations required for OE, OES and AM programs.
13. Prepare final DVP&R’s.

Preferred Courses:

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Production Planning & Control, Operations Research, Statistics, Process Fundamentals, General Chemistry & Physics–Mechanics, Quality Assurance, SolidWorks, Mathematics.

Qualifications:

BS in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, or Automotive engineering.

Experience in battery or automotive industries.

Knowledge in Six Sigma preferred.

Travel expectation is 10 - 20% between Milwaukee and other Clarios sites as necessary.
