Will this traveler need to float within scope to meet facility needs? Yes, just within the critical care department
Required/Preferred Qualifications:
Years of experience: Minimum of 1 year experience in the ICU, prefer CVICU experience with open heart experience.
First-time travelers accepted: Yes
License Requirement: SC license or Compact license must be in hand prior to start
Certifications Required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
Experience Required: Cardiac experience required
Open to accommodating block schedule? Approval can be requested prior to assignment, but not guaranteed.
Local Radius: 60 miles
Locals Accepted: No locals accepted
RTO Restrictions for Client Offers: All RTO must be included at time of submission. Approval will be based on facility needs.
Guaranteed Hours: Facility is allowed to call off 1 shift per 2 weeks.

Cardiovascular intensive care unit (CVICU) travel nurse jobs provide care to acutely ill patients who are recovering from cardiothoracic (CTICU) conditions or events, such as open heart surgery, AAA repairs and CABG. A CVICU travel nurse must be capable of administering care on a full spectrum, from clinical tasks such as medical history analysis and diagnostic testing, to personal care such as counseling patients and family regarding home-care and wellness. Overall, the CVICU nurse treats some of the most acutely ill patients in the hospital, and must do so safely and compassionately.
