Job Title: Transportation Solutions Software Engineer

Job Objective:
He will be part of a team for the design and development activities of Transportation solutions applied to different market segments (Metro, LRT, Railways). He will also be part of the Research and Technology (R&T) team that has in charge proposal preparation and implementation of R&T co-funded projects. The candidate will be inserted in an experienced team and will cooperate to assure the final objectives and deliverables in line with costs and time constraints.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Participates in the specification of the functions and interfaces of systems/products to be developed, and participates in the definition of the architecture and the allocation of functions.
2. Analyze and design the development of software systems to form a basis for the solution of information processing problems.
3. Analyze system specifications and translate system requirements into software design and requirements.
4. Development of new projects, analyze current projects and processes, and make recommendations which yield a more cost-effective product.
5. Writes, edits, tests, and debugs new programs for assigned projects, including necessary records and desired output.
6. Document code consistently throughout the development process by listing a description of the program, special instructions, and any changes made in database tables on procedural, modular, and database level.
7. Responsible for adopting and utilizing tools and equipment involved in performance of essential functions of programming including measuring instruments.
8. Responsible for communicating with system engineers and manufacturer's technical support staff regarding programming needs and performance.
9. Provide assistance to testers and support personnel as needed to determine system problems.
10. Support the preparation of R&T technical proposals answering to European and National collaborative projects calls.
11. Development of R&T activities in a context of national/international consortia, by taking also the responsibility of tasks and work packages coordination to achieve project's goals.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
Skills & Experiences:

1. Experience in digital technologies.
2. Experience in mathematics, statistics and relevant processing techniques.
3. Knowledge of Autonomous Driving is a benefit.
4. Knowledge of Visual tracking, tracking algorithms.
5. Knowledge of Image and video processing.
6. Knowledge of Embedded software design and development.
7. Experience in Agile approach for product development.
8. Ability to take a problem algorithm, develop appropriate source code and create relative applications.
9. Experience in multiple operating systems (Windows, Linux).
10. Strong capability to work with local and international software development teams.

Tools:

1. System Engineering discipline, processes, and CMMI principles.
2. Knowledge of MatLab tool.
3. Knowledge of Python and/or C/C++ programming languages.
4. Knowledge of Qt Framework.
5. Knowledge of Requirements Management tools (DOORS).
6. A good knowledge of English language is mandatory.
