Transportation and HAZMAT Specialist

ManTech is seeking a skilled, professional, and service-oriented Transportation and HAZMAT Specialist to join our vehicle sustainment team. The selected candidate will provide logistics support to multiple families of vehicles globally on the Allied Logistics Engineering Capabilities Sustainment (ALECS) program.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Forecast Load Planning and generate Transportation Movement Requests in the Transportation Coordinator’s – Automated Information for Movements System (TC-AIMS II).
2. Provide daily movement status report to the higher headquarters element.
3. Responsible for assisting more senior positions and/or performing functional duties under the oversight of more senior positions.
4. Plan, direct, or coordinate transportation, storage, or distribution activities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable government laws or regulations.
5. Anticipate transportation problems related to operational area and environmental and human factors.
6. Determine logistic support sequences and time-phasing.
7. Communicate in both verbal and written dialog while conducting daily business with vendors and other organizations.
8. Conduct research or technical studies to support logistic functions.
9. Compile and update status reports, databases, and spreadsheets.
10. Work in a team environment with independent assignments.
11. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

1. Must be a U.S. Citizen.
2. 3+ years of qualified experience and a bachelor’s degree in a related field (OR) 7+ years of qualified experience and an associate degree in a related field (OR) 9+ years of qualified experience.
3. Experience in operating material handling equipment. Knowledge of industrial safety requirements; Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and personal safety equipment use.
4. Fundamental knowledge of Import, Export, and ITAR Compliance.
5. HAZMAT certified for declaring and transporting Dangerous Goods.
6. TC-AIMS II certified for coordinating the transport of U.S. Department of Defense cargo.
7. Must have proof of completed training in the Army Training and Requirements Resource System (ATRRS).
8. Experience in warehousing operations.
9. Experience in receipt, accountability, and inventory of equipment in a technical field or military environment.
10. Knowledge of shipping forms.
11. Proficient in MS Office, MS Outlook, Excel and common software application and other office equipment.
12. Ability to successfully pass a Pre-Employment Drug Screening.
13. Valid Driver’s License.
14. High School Diploma or GED.

Desired Qualifications:

1. Fundamental knowledge of planning, coordinating, and transporting cargo within the European Union (EU).

Clearance Requirements:

Must have an active Secret clearance.

Physical Requirements:

1. Must be able to balance, bend, carry, crouch, stretch and kneel.
2. Must be able to push, pull, and reach.
3. Must be able to work in high noise areas.
4. Must be able to lift 50lbs and small parts.
5. Must be able to work with computers and CRTs, and type on a computer keyboard.
