Reporting to the Group Head of Sustainability, our Sustainability and Social Impact Manager will contribute to develop and implement the Italgas Group sustainability strategy and reporting practice, with also a focus on social impacts and human rights. She/he will support the Group in the delivery of sustainability projects across its Companies, departments and areas of operation, coordinating activities at corporate and local level in line with Italgas Sustainable Value Creation Plan and in compliance with national/international standards and best practices. She/he will support the process of integration of all sustainability topics across all areas of the business, also including the Group’s supply chain, and of identification, monitoring and reporting of the impacts of the Group (including social and human rights impacts). She/he will also support the development of the Annual Integrated Report, improving/reviewing reliable and auditable processes and systems related to cross-function non-financial data collection and will contribute to plan and implement the identified projects and will monitor the evolution of international standards and best practices regarding ESG topics.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Master degree or equivalent education in Environmental Engineering, Social Science, Management, Renewable Energy, Sustainability
• Minimum 7-8 years of experience in sustainability, climate change and social issues on a corporate level, or in a consulting company
• Knowledge and/or experience of industry is a strong asset, or relevant experience/knowledge in other highly regulated industries/sectors
• A thorough understanding of the sustainability reporting landscape, prior direct responsibility for managing sustainability topics within the organization
• Significant experience in non-financial reporting with direct experience developing Corporate Reporting and ESG reporting programs consistent with ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) global reporting standards
• Significant experience in sustainability impacts evaluation, and ESG Due Diligence
• Working knowledge in stakeholder engagement, materiality analysis, benchmarking and business case development
• Deep technical expertise and a demonstrated understanding of best-practice Corporate Reporting programs. Extensive experience in global standards related to socially responsible/ESG reporting
• Good knowledge in circular economy amongst other sustainable concepts such as cradle to cradle, etc
• Solid knowledge in social issues and human rights and in sustainability within a corporate environment and experience in structuring and implementing projects in the social impact area including human rights
• Very strong data management and analytical skills and experience with reporting tools
• Excellent project management and organisational skills, delivering high quality work on time and to budget; knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling projects
• Understands the views of others, anticipating, listening and addressing any concerns
• A team player, who can work in collaboration and is enthusiastic and supportive
• Ability to communicate assertively with internal stakeholders in writing and in person and a range of external contacts
• Fluency in English
