STOCK MANAGER
Department: Retail
Reporting to: Store Manager
The Stock manager’s role is to maintain product and supply inventories to increase efficiency. He/she is responsible for training employees, scheduling employee shifts, receiving and sending shipments, updating records, and maintaining inventories.
Major Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Operations
- Manage stock levels and make key decisions about stock control
- Ensure that merchandise shipments have been received and displayed within the company's expectations
- Maintain and organize stock room
- Maintain an active presence on showroom floor and stock room to prevent stock shrinkage
- Assist Store Manager in creating, promoting and overseeing a profitable store
- Keep selling floor and merchandise neat, organized and stocked
- Manage all inventory in the stockroom and on the selling floor
- Assist in all areas of stock, shipping, receiving protocol/policies and all shipping/receiving related paperwork
- Replenish stock on the sales floor as needed
- Pack up defective items or overstock and arrange for return shipment
- Observe proper safety procedures in the stockroom, particularly when lifting and moving heavy items
- Report issues or problems to Store Manager
- Assist managers and associates in preventing theft and maintaining proper inventory
- Comply with all Point-of-Sale policies and procedures
- Attend store meetings
- Manage all relevant training and development seminars, programs and meetings as directed by store management
- Facilitate loss prevention initiatives that reduce shrinkage
- Maintain solid partnership with store management and visual manager
- Review stock room space and create tools to maximize space in stock room and make merchandise easily accessible for stock and sales staff
Customer Service
- Provide the highest level of customer service
- Answer customer and sales associate questions about available items in stock
- Retrieve items from stockroom at customer request
- Place special orders for customers when necessary
- Build and maintain repeat clientele; utilize client book
- Resolve all client problems and complaints quickly and effectively, ensuring client satisfaction
Management
- Lead a team of employees to consistently meet sales and service goals
- Hire, train and develop new employees based on changes in the store's volume and sales cycles
- Manage and motivate the team to increase sales and ensure efficiency
- Work on staffing duties such as interviewing potential staff members, conducting appraisals and performance reviews, as well as providing or organizing training and development
- Update colleagues on business performance, new initiatives and other pertinent issues
- Create stock employee schedules and ensure stock staff are always on duty to provide assistance on sales floor as needed
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in retail and luxury in a management role
- Able to work as a charismatic leader, to drive and motivate people and willingness to develop talent
- Excellent personal organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Familiar with inventory software
- Possesses physical strength necessary to unload, lift, and carry heavy boxes
- Exhibits familiarity with proper safety procedures in the stockroom
- Able to work under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced, challenging environment
- Able to work on different tasks easily – Multi-tasking
