Staff Accountant Description

Our client, a global manufacturing company, is looking for a Staff Accountant to join their team of approximately 40 employees just north of Hartford, Connecticut. This is an onsite position. In this role, you will handle accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank reconciliations, and financial statement preparation. The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented professional with strong knowledge of GAAP, A/P, A/R, and reconciliations—someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and brings a positive attitude to the team. Staff Accountant Responsibilities

1. Manage daily cash flow
2. Update daily entries in general ledger
3. Assist with bank account reconciliation
4. Prepare financial reports
5. Manage accounts receivable, including posting of payments
6. Oversee accounts payable
7. Provide backup to HR for payroll
8. Process invoices and manage expense reports
9. Prepare sales tax filings
10. Assist with budgeting and support financial analysis

Staff Accountant Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
2. 3+ years of accounting experience required
3. Sales tax experience required
4. ERP experience required
5. Must be willing to work onsite
