We offer an interesting opportunity to join our Legal team, based in Bussolengo (VR) as Sr. Legal Specialist International Spine reporting to the Vice President Assistant General Counsel.
The Sr. Legal Specialist International Spine is primarily responsible for the international legal needs of the Spine Business unit, under the supervision of the VP, Assistant General Counsel (International).
The work activities include drafting, managing, negotiating and processing international distribution agreements, HCP contracts and clinical study agreements, supply agreements, royalty agreements, consultancy agreements and agreements with business third parties in general, supporting the international tender activities with third party distributors in the Spine business.
The role is also responsible for other legal needs of the international Spine business, including tender legal support, litigation support as required, and privacy law activities.
The position works with all departments in Orthofix Medical Inc. and its subsidiaries, particularly the Spine business unit, as well as with the company’s headquarters in the US.
The position works with external legal advisors and other consultants, as needed.
The person doesn’t have direct reports and will work in a team of 3 people.
What will your contribution be?
- Provide general business consultancy legal support and advice to all business functions.
- Negotiate and draft business agreements with third parties, including Healthcare Professionals, Agents, distributors, suppliers, service providers, etc.
- Support the international spine tender activities with distributors.
- Support IP development and protection activities as requested.
- Support the review and implementation of the company’s international spine marketing materials.
- Collaborate with colleagues in the Legal Department, including those responsible for Spine business activities in the United States, to ensure consistency and optimize business outcomes.
- Coordination of the department activities, processes and procedures for international Spine.
- Work with Finance and other departments to provide legal advice and manage intake of legal needs for the international Spine business.
- Privacy management system and coordination with the company’s privacy supervisors with respect to international spine matters.
- Management of internal authorization flows and collection of signatures as required.
- Management of international spine product complaints with the Regulatory department.
- Work on litigation matters as required, in coordination with the Legal Department’s global litigation lead.
- Other duties as may be necessary from time to time to support the needs of the Legal Department, and as assigned by the position’s manager.
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in law.
- Admission / Professional Qualification as a practicing lawyer preferred.
- Specialization in corporate law preferred.
- The ideal candidate will have at least 4-5 years of experience within a law firm and/or within the legal office of a multinational company, preferably in biosciences or healthcare. Commercial contracting experience will be highly valued.
- Fluent English: French knowledge will be appreciated.
