Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer specializing in suspension systems to join our innovative automotive engineering team. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and validation of advanced suspension components and systems, playing a key role in enhancing vehicle performance, comfort, and safety. The ideal candidate has a strong background mainly in suspension design with at least 10 years of experience, solid mechanical engineering skills, and hands-on experience with FEA and CAD software.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end design and development of suspension systems, including springs, dampers, bushings, control arms, and anti-roll bars.
- Generate and refine CAD models and drawings for suspension components, ensuring compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including vehicle dynamics, NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness), and manufacturing, to integrate suspension design into the overall vehicle architecture.
- Act as the technical lead on multiple suspension projects, managing timelines, design validation, and quality control.
- Develop and execute testing protocols to validate suspension system performance and durability, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Interpret and analyze test data to refine and optimize designs, and troubleshoot issues arising during the validation process.
- Lead efforts to enhance the performance, cost-effectiveness, and manufacturability of suspension components.
- Stay updated on new materials, technologies, and design methodologies in suspension systems to drive innovation and improve design processes.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical design engineering, with a main focus on suspension systems.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CATIA).
- Strong knowledge of suspension systems, component selection, material properties, and manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with automotive testing standards (e.g., SAE, ISO) and experience in DVP&R (Design Verification Plan and Report).
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong analytical skills.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and present technical concepts clearly.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and a track record of successful project management.
