WHAT WILL WE DO TOGETHER
- Lead and execute sourcing activities for transportation services in Italy (RFI/RFP/RFQ/eAuctions/F2F negotiations, awarding, contracting) ensuring compliance with Procurement Guidelines for Indirect Categories within Supply Chain.
- Support Group Procurement strategy for Logistics category and deploy locally the sourcing roadmap.
- Select and evaluate new suppliers based on strategic needs, business expansion, market trends, quality, reliability, cost, sustainability, innovation, and geographic coverage.
- Negotiate, review, and finalize contracts with transportation providers (e.g., freight forwarders, carriers, 3PLs) securing competitive pricing, terms, and alignment with policies and legal requirements.
- Perform category spend analysis defining actions to maximize value for the Company, identifying cost-saving opportunities and potential risks, elaborating contingency plans and risk mitigation strategies.
- Monitor market trends and industry changes (fuel prices, regulatory changes, etc.) to adapt sourcing strategies accordingly.
- Manage supplier relationships, ensuring compliance with contracts, service level agreements (SLAs), and performance targets, resolving contract disputes or performance issues ensuring corrective actions are taken.
- Collaborate with Logistics teams and Finance Team to understand needs and ensure accurate cost allocations and spend tracking for transportation services.
- Identify potential risks in the transportation supply chain (e.g., geopolitical issues, fuel volatility, natural disasters, labor strikes).
- Scout and facilitate new technology solutions to streamline processes, improve data analytics, and increase transparency within the transportation network.
- Promote sustainability goals by selecting green transportation solutions, such as electric vehicles, alternative fuels, or carbon offsetting programs.
- Monitor Procurement KPIs for the assigned Categories and identify actions for improvement.
ARE THESE YOUR SECRET INGREDIENTS?
- 4-5 years of experience in an industry related to the category or in procurement Logistics.
- Deep understanding of logistics and transportation market dynamics, trends, and their regulations.
- Knowledge of supply chain & procurement processes.
- Advanced level of English.
- Successful track record and development potential.
- Working experience in a cross-cultural environment and in a matrix organization.
- Experience in SAP or other ERP systems, with a focus on Purchasing is nice to have.
- Familiarity with business intelligence tools analytics, data modeling, and reporting is an asset.
- University Degree (Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, or similar) is an asset.
- Master's or MBA is an asset.
- Knowledge in procurement practices (CIPS preferred or other certification).
- Travelling Time 10-15% (depending on the project needs).
