Senior Mechanical Engineer

Our client, an Oil and Gas Services Company, is currently hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer to be based in their Milan, Italy offices.

This is for a large-scale gas field development project in Libya.

Type of Assignment: Full time

Duration Of Assignment: 30 Months minimum

Work Location(s): Milano (MUST have right to work in EU)

Summarized Job Description or List of Position Responsibilities/Duties:

1. Ability to review design and develop mechanical systems and components based on project specifications and requirements.
2. Produce detailed drawings and specifications.
3. Conduct stress analysis, thermal analysis, and fluid dynamics simulations to validate designs and ensure performance under operating conditions.
4. Utilize software tools such as ANSYS or COMSOL for simulation and analysis.
5. Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations (e.g., ASME, ASTM).
6. Perform inspections and testing of mechanical systems to verify performance and quality.
7. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, electrical, and civil engineers, to identify and resolve technical issues, proposing innovative solutions.
8. Ensure adherence to local, national, and international regulations.

Minimum Academic Qualifications:

1. BSc or higher in oil & gas sector (not less than 10 years’ experience).
2. Petroleum Tech. Institute with experience in oil & gas engineering projects (Non-graduate engineer with 20 years’ experience in oil & gas production).

Minimum Work Experience (Years):

1. 10 years for graduate engineers.
2. 20 years for non-graduate engineers including experience in oil & gas engineering & design sectors.

Minimum Relevant Experience: 5 years EPIC projects experience.

Level of Language Skills: Proficiency in English.

Level of Computer Skills: Engineering Design Software (e.g., AutoCAD), SAP2000, ANSYS or similar, Microsoft Office, process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS).

Level of Organizational Skills: Time Management, Task management, Planning, Attention to Detail, Problem-Solving, Communication.

Professional Certificates/Licenses: PMP or similar, Certified Manufacturing Engineer (CMfgE), ASME Certifications, Safety Certifications, Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred.
