Senior Legal Counsel - Financial Services (SLC - SS - 24)

Our client is a company leader in the Italian financial markets, part of an international network. For their Legal Team, we are searching for high-caliber candidates to take up the following challenging role:

Main Responsibilities:

1. Regulatory and Legal Framework Development: Contribute to the development of the international company's legal framework and internal policies with a focus on regulatory and legal matters including business law, contractual law, corporate law, intellectual property law, and competition law. Support the companies of the Group active in the post trading businesses (clearing, custody, and settlement).
2. Review of Regulated Products & Services: Evaluate and update the terms of business for the company’s regulated products and services to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and the commercial needs of the business.
3. Regulatory Policy Implementation: Play a key role in shaping and executing regulatory enforcement policies, procedures, and guidance to align with both internal objectives and external legal obligations.
4. Stakeholder Engagement: Assess and respond to inquiries, concerns, and issues raised by market participants, investors, and other stakeholders, ensuring timely and accurate communication on legal and regulatory matters.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

1. Law degree.
2. Around 10 years of experience in a similar role, ideally within financial services or regulatory environments.
3. Deep knowledge of financial markets and of European and Italian laws and regulations such as MiFiD II, EMIR, CSDR, d.lgs. 58/1998 and Consob and Bank of Italy Regulations.
4. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
5. Strong analytical skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
6. Strong interpersonal, influencing, and organizational skills to mobilize and motivate delivery in a cooperative and collaborative working environment.
7. Fluency in both written and spoken English.
