For our Electrophysiology Business Unit, we are recruiting a Senior Financial Analyst – Italy and Greece to be based in our Italian office in Milan, Italy.
The Senior Financial Analyst position is a critical role supporting the commercial and financial leadership in driving the business and delivering on financial commitments.
Through his or her sales, margin and costs analysis, the senior financial analyst provides insight to the two country leaders and helps them make the best decisions.
The senior financial analyst acts as a true business partner to the commercial team as well as the support functions, who rely on his/her financial knowledge and expertise to make decisions. He or she will be involved in multiple business processes with impacts on the business and the team (e.g. plan and forecasts preparation, incentives and commissions calculation).
The senior financial analyst actively drives forecast accuracy and transparency, and process standardization. This work should enable him or her to support the business not only retroactively, but also - and mostly - proactively.
As part of this role, he or she ensures balance sheet accounts are reconciled regularly and timely, participates in internal and external audit preparation, and monitors the correct application of Abbott’s internal controls.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Act as a trusted business partner at all commercial levels within the area of responsibility.
- Be a key contributor in the preparation of financial plan and forecasts, and business cases.
- Work with large, complex data sets to support facts- and data-based solutions that help predict, improve and measure the success of the business unit.
- Develop, run reports and provide analysis to BU management in relation to territory plan setting, territory management, forecasting and other sales and marketing analysis.
- Demonstrate creative problem-solving skills to contribute to the business unit financial objectives achievement.
- Organize and maintain a system with all relevant data easily accessible to Sales management, interacting with colleagues or third parties.
- Ensure the best operating processes are in place in order to timely and effectively collect information from sales and marketing.
- Support month-end closing process, and balance sheet reviews when required. Ensure balance sheet accounts are reconciled and correctly documented.
- Participate in ad-hoc projects.
Your Profile
- Master's degree in business administration/science or economics.
- Experience of at least 5 years in a similar position in an international corporate environment.
- Prior experiences in product-related industries, preferably in a commercial environment. MedTech industry experience is a plus.
- Sufficient accounting and compliance experience (e.g. Big 4 or Internal Audit experience) to be able to drive and manage changes in SAP and other Accounting-related systems where needed.
- Proven financial analytical skills. Ability to translate financial data into actionable items, and to communicate financial data/analysis to the business. Strong Business Partnering skills.
- Strong Excel knowledge, and established data-cube system knowledge (Hyperion, Dodeca, etc.). Experience with SAP and Power BI is a plus.
- Agility and adaptability are 2 essential capabilities for the role.
- Fluent (spoken and written) in English and Italian.
- Team player in a matrix organization.
