Senior Data Engineer (Python Spark AWS) Milan / WFH to €80,000

Are you a tech savvy Data Engineer with strong Python coding skills?

You could be progressing your career in a senior, hands-on Data Engineer role as part of a friendly and supportive international team at a growing and hugely successful European car insurance tech company as they expand their UK presence; their platform enables an insurance quote to be made to the consumer within 60 seconds, using just 4 clicks.

As a Data Engineer you will bridge the gap between Data Scientists / Data Analysts and Software Engineers; from shaping the architecture and requirements, through to designing and building well engineered data pipelines and Data Warehousing solutions for data analytics and data science to support business growth using a modern tech stack that you'll be able to influence. You'll help lead the transformation by setting up best practices in areas like data modelling, performance optimisation and data governance.

Location / WFH:

The company is a big advocate of flexible working and prides itself on DEI; you can work from home most of the time, meeting up with colleagues in the Milan office once a week; you can also work at times that suit you.

About you:

• You are an experienced Data Engineer with advanced Python coding skills
• You have experience with Spark and / or PySpark
• You have experience of working for a technology / SaaS / software product company
• You have AWS, CI/CD and IaC (Infrastructure as Code), Terraform / Pulumi
• You have a strong understanding of RDBMS, Data Warehousing, Data Modelling, SQL (Redshift, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases
• Experience with Data Bricks and / or Kafka would also be great but not essential
• You have fluent English and Italian language skills
