This position reports to the Methodology Manager or their designee; is located in Maranello, Italy. Responsible for supporting Design Groups in both the Aerodynamics and Full-scale design departments, working within the Design Office. This role's primary function is to define tools, methods, techniques, and guidance in the use of the CAD/PLM system. This position aims to enhance the efficiency, data quality, and consistency of the design department.
Minimum 5 years’ experience working with CATIA is essential, ideally with at least 3 years’ experience of working with CATIA V6 or 3D EXPERIENCE. University Degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering (or similar discipline) is required. Preferably 5+ years of experience in automotive, motorsport, aerospace, or a similar industry as a member of an engineering design department or an IT support function to a design department. Prior experience in Formula One or other motor racing category is advantageous.
Excellent knowledge of MS-Office software package and Microsoft Windows 10 or 11. Knowledge of CATIA automation e.g. macros, UDFs, knowledge-ware and coding is advantageous but not essential. Solid Microsoft and PC knowledge with experience in Microsoft Office products is essential.
An ability to work and prioritize within a high pressure, time-sensitive environment while retaining a methodical approach is essential. The role may require some domestic & international travel and a willingness to work long and flexible hours including weekends.
This position may require lifting to 50 pounds, repeated bending, squatting and manual dexterity. Fast-paced work environment requiring heavy mental demands. Work environment includes machinery, race cars, 7-post and other rigs, grinding debris, and hazardous fluids. All employees must ensure compliance with the Company Health and Safety Policy, and all relevant other statutory Health and Safety legislation.
