SAP Basis Consultant

Your Role and Responsibilities

The IBM Client Innovation Center is seeking a highly skilled SAP Basis Consultant with proven expertise in user and role profiling to join our team on a consultancy basis. The consultant will play a key role in managing SAP security, user roles, and authorizations while ensuring the system aligns with IBM and client standards for compliance, performance, and security.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide SAP Basis administrative support, including system configuration, performance tuning, and issue resolution.
2. Design, implement, and manage user and role profiling, ensuring compliance with IBM security policies and industry standards.
3. Analyze and resolve Segregation of Duties (SoD) conflicts and other authorization-related issues.
4. Support role clean-up and optimization activities, enhancing the system's efficiency and security.
5. Collaborate with IBM teams and clients to define authorization strategies and implement solutions.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

1. Minimum of 3 years of experience in SAP Basis with a focus on security, role profiling, and authorizations.
2. Strong knowledge of SAP authorization concepts, including SoD principles and risk mitigation strategies.
3. Hands-on experience with SAP GRC or similar tools.
4. Familiarity with SAP landscapes and operating systems (Linux, Windows).
5. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
7. Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
8. SAP certifications, particularly in Basis or Security, are a plus.
