Job Title: Sales Manager

Department: Sales & Marketing

Reports to (position): Director Business Development

JOB SUMMARY:
The Sales Manager is responsible for developing business through direct sales solicitation, securing new accounts, maintaining existing accounts, and executing tactical sales plans through a result-driven approach. S/he can secure target results in the primarily assigned B2B segments (mainly MICE), giving a significant contribution to achieving sales objectives.

In his/her market, the Sales Manager will engage in the main strategic national and international sales activities, in the regional and local market, in line with the commercial plan. S/he has a solid network and will manage a proper action plan and customer-centric approach. S/he will manage an own account portfolio.

MAIN ACTIVITIES:

  1. Identifies new or existing markets/accounts that meet properties sales strategy;
  2. Develops a sales action plan to generate business from identified markets/accounts;
  3. Determines the account's needs and marketing activities of each assigned market/account;
  4. Monitors performance of the account portfolio and takes actions accordingly;
  5. Maintains and develops the RFP’s together with Marriott Global Sales Offices;
  6. Executes regular analysis of the current market situation and competitors;
  7. Attends the commercial meetings and translates the revenue analyses of the Hotels in his/her market into sales activities;
  8. Plans and executes office visits and site inspections to increase visibility & brand awareness and to generate new leads/business for the assigned segments;
  9. Uses internal reports and external sales tools to generate new leads/business for specific segments;
  10. Organizes and actively participates in travel agents familiarization trips, sales trips, and road shows.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Business or Hospitality;
  2. Minimum of 2 years sales experience in the hotel industry or similar industries, preferably with international brands and in the MICE segment;
  3. In possession of a driver’s license;
  4. Fluent written and verbal communication in Italian and English and preferably a second language;
  5. Excellent speaking, listening, and presentation skills;
  6. Ability to work effectively both independently and as a team;
  7. Diplomacy and ability to effectively deal with management, clients, and team;
  8. Ability to work under pressure and with tight deadlines;
  9. Has the right hunting profile to seek new business opportunities;
  10. Team player: s/he will be a role model for teamwork, encouraging a positive team play;
  11. Motivated and enthusiastic player: supportive of learning and development, inspiring and motivating others to achieve superior performance and to take on new learning opportunities.
