The Role...

We would like you to join our team as a dynamic and results driven Product focused Sales Manager – Marine. You will become the vital link between our innovative technical solutions and our clients in the Marine marketplace. With the Marine sector undergoing change at the fastest rate in its history, your ability to understand client needs, establish lasting relationships and convert opportunities into win-win sales scenarios, ensuring the continued success and growth of Chart, will be vital.

This role will be primarily focused on Capex sales with emphasis on our novel fuel saving technologies however will also focus on developing our wider Chart Marine product portfolio, especially into hydrogen fuelling applications – where we are industry leaders in a rapidly developing market. Project values will range from $1M to $10M+ and sales cycles ranging from 6 months to 2+ years. The successful candidate will likely possess a thorough knowledge of the marine market having sold to Vessel owners, Managers and/or shipyards.

What Will You Do...

  • Identify and pursue new opportunities within the Marine Sector, focusing on vessel owners, vessel managers, newbuild and repair shipyards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive product development and innovation based on market feedback and customer interests.
  • Co-develop the product strategy to align with the company’s overall business goals for the Marine business.
  • Set goals and requirements for engineering & priority of projects.
  • Develop the roadmap for the product development and life cycle of the product.
  • Decision making and oversight during product development.
  • Interact with customers, classifications societies, authorities, suppliers, and partners, maintaining a pulse on the rapidly changing industry, market trends, competition activity, key regulatory changes and client interests.
  • Develop an intimate understanding of client challenges and interests, becoming a trusted technical advisor.

What Will You Bring...

  • A proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving business growth.
  • 5+ years relevant industry experience in sales, business development and product management.
  • A thorough knowledge of the maritime sector, demonstrable experience of CAPEX and/or OPEX driven sales.
  • Specific shipbuilding, naval architecture, hydrodynamics and ship design experience will be beneficial.
  • A self-starter with a strategic thinker, an excellent communicator, negotiator and presenter, comfortable presenting up to and including C-Suite.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce or similar CRM tools and related processes.
  • Experience in Project Terms & Conditions.
  • Excellent communication skills and a very good command of the English language.
