Veritas’ Worldwide Sales and Marketing team propels company growth by driving all aspects of sales and marketing, including direct and channel sales, global sales enablement and all marketing functions.

The Sales Engineer - Milan, Italy is focused on working with a set of assigned accounts and territory to obtain closure and manage technical risk on new Veritas business.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provides a level of technical expertise and technical closure for a specific solution within assigned accounts and territories.
  2. Recognised within the team as the subject matter expert across Backup & Recovery, Information Archiving and Storage.
  3. Maintain product/solution expertise of market trends in aligned technology including detailed understanding of the competition.
  4. Provide high level solution design for information management.
  5. Present the Veritas technical vision and offering strategy across the solution offering to all levels across the customer internally and externally e.g. technical or business leads.
  6. Own the delivery of technical briefings for solutions and products for external and internal customers/partners including proof of concepts/demonstrations when required.
  7. Maintain key relationships/contacts within the Sales, TSS customers and Partners.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  1. Proven track record of building and maintaining excellent customer relationships with both technical and business stakeholders.
  2. Ability to map Veritas offerings against customer needs and to identify new opportunities within Italy.
  3. Consistent proven achievement against goals or targets.
  4. Understands the importance of driving the technical sales lifecycle.
  5. Has understanding of operational cadence in their specific areas.
  6. Ensures operating within compliance from a process, legal and revenue recognition.
  7. Presents themselves in a professional manner, being a representative of their organisation.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Comes from an IT background working within a world-class software organisation covering IT Infrastructure, Datacentre technology.
  2. Technical Sales experience in Backup & Recovery, Information Archiving and Storage is required.
  3. Knowledge of VMware, Oracle DB, Cloud Architectures and Big Data Architectures is preferred.
  4. External qualification/industry certification e.g. CISSP, SNIA, ITIL, SANS GIAC, CISA, CISM.
  5. Degree/Master’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent IT related subject and/or specific industry related experience.
