This is a position with grade 16 and reports to the R&D Local Unit Lead.

Your role and responsibilities:

In this role, you will have the opportunity to perform mechanical and electrical tests on low voltage electrical devices based on standards and specifications. This activity in research and development of new products should be done with special attention and analysis capabilities to bring a constructive and active contribution to the development of products.

The test results will be reported clearly and concisely in a test document.

This role is contributing to the ABB Electrification Business area, particularly for the Smart Power Division in Bergamo, in the Experimental Laboratory of the Certification Department, following the development and managing the validation process on different Low Voltage devices.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Defining the details, test sequences, methods of execution or testing procedures, equipment, and instrumentation to be used, with reference to applicable standards; preparing the necessary test set-up, required measuring instruments, connecting the device under test on the testing plant, and executing tests.
• Analyzing the test results according to applicable standards for checking the compliance of the product tested.
• Producing and developing activities required for processing test reports for tested equipment, and issuing the reports.
• Proposing improvements in existing test techniques based on experience and the use of new equipment, particularly for test and measurement equipment.
• Assisting and supporting customers during testing activities.

Qualifications for the role:

• High School Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in the Electrotechnical field or Bachelor’s Degree (3 years) in Electrical or Electronic field.
• Basic knowledge of Electrical engineering.
• Experience with Electrical and mechanical measuring instruments, analysis capacity, and manual skills.
• Qualified in computer skills (programming knowledge and office software package).
• Passionate, organized, good at teamwork, with a high desire to learn and an attitude for problem-solving.
• Comfortable communicating in Italian and English.
