Position Overview The General Project Manager is overall responsible for the Project and the Project results. He/She manages a project relevant to Communication and Control Systems of a Metro assuring the achievement of all objectives (technical, operationally, economical, financially, and business-wise) within the defined schedule and budget and with the expected level of quality and safety. This role involves leading and managing the execution and implementation of the projects in coordination with Customers and each discipline PM and the Company Functions.
Main Responsibilities
Manage the project to achieve targets, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
Ensure compliance with Safety Requirements and implementation of the Safety Plan throughout the project.
Define and develop the Customer relationship strategy, understanding the client environment and responsibilities.
Identify and manage all project stakeholders and their influences/expectations.
Accountable for project profitability, sales, and costs.
Plan and coordinate project activities and resources for fulfilling project objectives.
Manage contractual terms of the project.
Organize and plan the project with appropriate management tools (i.e., Primavera).
Supervise and control the production/product integration of project-related systems.
Monitor project progress against the planned timetable.
Monthly monitor project profit and implement necessary action plans.
Supervise and coordinate validation and verification of the system.
Support preparation and validation of the project Statement of Work.
Establish project structure including management organization and team roles.
Implement the Project Management Plan (PMP).
Manage project risks including contingency plans.
Ensure adherence to corporate key-values and HSE regulations.
Represent the company in front of the customer.
Close-out the project.
Prerequisites and Skills
University Degree in Engineering (Electronic, Telecommunication, or Informatics) or equivalent experience.
Experience of at least 10 years as PM or GPM.
Experience of at least 5 years in Communication and Control systems projects.
Good technical background in Communications, Control, Security, and Passenger information systems used in Metro or Railways.
Optimal knowledge of English for daily work within international contexts.
Willing to be located abroad for medium/long term (> 3 years).
Available for Business Missions globally.
Strong competencies in organization and coordination of remote teams.
Autonomy, proactivity, and commitment are essential.
Strong motivation to work for targets.
Experience managing complex projects in multicultural environments.
