We are currently seeking a Project Manager to join our dynamic team in Castel Guelfo (BO), Italy!

Within the Large Power Converters Product line, this project management role will be mainly focused on the introduction of new or existing products in Global Regions in coordination with the product development PMs across the Business Unit. He or she will manage the launch of the product(s) by working with various departments in accordance with Vertiv’s NPDI process. Additionally, this role will also manage the execution of cost reduction and/or technical improvement initiatives on existing or legacy products by working in close cooperation with Engineering, Procurement, Service and Cost Managers.

What kind of work will you be doing?

In this role, the Project Manager will lead the team that is responsible for achieving the project’s objectives over cross-functional groups, directed towards strategic business and other organizational objectives. The projects to manage may entail complex activities that span functions, organizations, geographic regions, and cultures. The Project Manager must build credibility, establish rapport, and maintain communication with stakeholders at multiple levels, including ones external to the Organization. The Project Manager must maintain continuous alignment of the project scope with the strategic business objectives and make recommendations to modify the project to enhance the effectiveness towards the business result or strategic intent.

Your Key Duties:

  1. Facilitate cross-functional planning and manage project execution at the right cost, on time.
  2. Create detailed project plans/timelines and ensure coordination of activities on the critical path.
  3. Identify potential risks, assess their impact, and develop strategies to mitigate them effectively.
  4. Estimate project cost and keep it under control by managing expenses effectively.
  5. Identify key issues and drive decisions to ensure that the project does not slip.
  6. Work with resource managers to identify and obtain required resources to adequately staff projects.
  7. Enforce established processes to ensure consistency and quality in project execution.

What will make you successful?

  1. Ability to multi-task, manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks.
  2. Good communication skills to work with peers, general management, upper management, outside vendors, and production Plants as required.
  3. Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence others with no direct authority.
  4. Ability to navigate Organizational complexity and identify the most appropriate stakeholder(s) for each task with minimum guidance.
  5. Experience with coordinating meetings both in presence and remote.
  6. Knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes.
  7. Technical proficiency with Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, Excel or equivalent.
  8. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in any technical domain (Engineering preferred).
  9. Minimum of 3 years of previous work experience in project management or coordination.
  10. Fluency in both English and Italian.
