Job Summary/Role description

The Project Control Manager leads the project control team and coordinates the overall project control activities of any size/complexity, including Turn Key projects, in full compliance with the contractual requirements following Company standard methodology, the Company’s quality requirements, and Project Director/Project Manager instructions.

Main Activities & Responsibilities

In particular, the Project Control Manager is responsible for:

  1. Preparing - for their area of responsibility - and collaborating on the definition of the overall Project Execution Plan of the project with the Project Director/Manager and involved project key personnel, such as Procurement Manager, Construction Manager, and Project Engineer Manager (not exhaustive);
  2. Creating and maintaining, with the cooperation of and coordinating the Project Control Engineers (cost control, planning, and document control engineers), the project control procedures, guidelines, and project control standards of the project;
  3. Coordinating the finalization and implementation of the project WBS (Work Breakdown Structure), involving the Project Director/Manager and project key personnel, ensuring the overall consistency and feasibility of the WBS in accordance with the contractual requirements;
  4. Being fully proficient and autonomous in the use and coordination amongst the Project Control Engineers of all necessary Company Tools such as Primavera P6, SAP, Primavera Schedule Risk Analysis, etc.;
  5. Coordinating the preparation of the “Top-Down Schedule” and project schedules at different levels of detail, as appropriate, involving the Project Planner and project key personnel;
  6. Representing, towards the Company, the Client, and the internal stakeholders, the single point of reference for all Project Control activities together with the Project Director/Project Manager;
  7. Conducting Original Budget preparation by coordinating Project Control resources and facilitating the necessary inputs receipt from the Commercial Dept.;
  8. Evaluating scope changes, design modifications, and Contract variance in terms of time and cost, supporting the Contract Manager in preparing Change Orders towards the Client.

Personal Attributes:

  • Willingness to travel for short periods in Italy and abroad;
  • Ability to relocate for short/medium term assignments abroad (6-12 months to jobsites, branches, etc.);
  • Proficient in English, both spoken and written.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position in Oil & Gas and/or Renewable (solar photovoltaic, wind farm) Projects;
  • Experience in project control (planning and/or cost controlling).
