Production Operator

Now Hiring a Production Operator for a Great Company in Ravenna, OH!

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Operate and monitor extrusion, mixing / blending, packaging equipment to produce high-quality products.
2. Set up and adjust machines according to specifications.
3. During changeover, make setup by manually removing, cleaning and installing extruder die heads.
4. Monitor extruder control panels and make required adjustments in accordance with written machine and processing parameters and verbal instructions from the supervisor and/or process engineer.
5. Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance.
6. Inspect finished products for quality and make necessary adjustments.
7. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise during production.
8. Follow all production and quality related policies and procedures.
9. Operate process equipment such as extruder, pumps, silos and packaging line.
10. Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work area.
11. Set up, operate mixer to mix or blend materials, such as chemicals, liquids, pigments, ingredients.
12. Verify materials and weights prior to beginning the batching process.
13. Prepare raw materials for mixing procedure.
14. Load raw materials into the mixer and process per detailed instructions.
15. Examine raw materials visually or with hands, in order to ensure conformance to established standards.
16. Read work orders to determine production specifications and information.
17. Measure, weigh, and count products and materials.
18. Print labels.
19. Mixing the proper resins, pigments, fillers and chemicals together in the correct amounts for each production order.
20. Packaging and storage of produced products.
21. Conduct month end packaging supplies inventory.
22. Ensure quality sample collection and interaction with laboratory to determine product conformity.
23. Ensure that boxes are labelled correctly – Product ID, correct weights, and any other customer requirements.

Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma or GED required.
2. 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
3. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to operate, adjust, and troubleshoot production machinery.
4. Strong attention to detail and quality control, with the ability to inspect products for defects.
5. Physically capable of standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 lbs., and working in an industrial setting.
6. Ability to operate compounding machinery such as extruder, mixer, packing machine, etc.

Schedule: 10:45pm to 7:15am [Sunday - Thursday] or 2:45pm - 11:15pm [Monday - Friday]

Compensation: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour + $1.50 per hour shift premium [Paid Weekly]
